i just recently built my own computer, i put everything together but my windows cd wouldn't boot
so i took my windows cd and hard drive to a friends and installed windows and everything was fine, keyboard and mouse worked after the windows install
brought the hard drive back to my own computer and windows loaded and i got to the home screen but now the keyboard and mouse don't work. they keyboard and mouse both work, I tried using them on my laptop and both worked. The keyboard works when i go into the BIOS menu but after that it stops working.
please help, its been problem after problem haha.
here's all my components:
processor: AMD phenom II x4 965 Black Edition 3.4 GHZ
If I download and run the program with my hard drive in my friends tower so you think it will be the same as if I did it on my own rig?
Just download the instant flash BIOS ROM and put it on a flashdrive, turn on your PC and press F11 (i think) to start up the instant flash utility and thats it, your motherboard will recognize the flashdrive and will look for a BIOS ROM (make sure to place it in the root of your flashdrive)
You could have a bad board but have you tried using a different mouse/keyboard? Go through your build and verify that all connections are in the right place & snug/tight. If your good with electricity & have a multimeter try testing your PSU to make sure it's not faulty (faulty PSU could cause bad usb connections).
If you leave everything connected you can test one of the molex connectors - If i remember right you can connect the 5v and ground connections and test it under a load. But if you don't know what your doing i wouldn't try it.
