  1. Hey,

Your i7-920 even if it is running at stock clocks will not be a bottleneck. If anything the gtx 550ti is likely to bottleneck your i7-920. What is your budget for getting a graphics card?

    Hope this helps
  2. nothing too high maybe 150 tops which isnt much. thats why i found a good deal for a 550 ti for about 114.
  3. i have yet to hit over 50% with my i3 2120 with 99% load on my 550ti . .you might want to set your sights higher if you have the budget.
  4. Well you could get a Hd6870 which is a lot better for $159:

Or you could get a hd 6850 for $139:

Any of the ones above are better, they cost a bit more tho. What games do you plan on playing, and on what resolution?
  5. well i was looking to stick with nvidia but with a budge that low i really cant get anything. i mostly play WoW which is cpu ram heavy, pretty much all FPS. So i pretty much play everything right now.
  6. Oh ok,
I myself usually go with nvidia, but in this case the amd cards are better when compared to the 550. There is a gtx 560 SE which is similar to a normal 560 but it is a bit lower performing, but it costs less than an ordinary 560 too, and performs better than a 550ti.

    It costs $129.99

    $144.99 after mail-in rebate card

going to find a WoW benchmark . .brb.

EDIT; sorry to Wow bench i could find, so i "cherry picked" this one

  8. Don't know how long it will last but here is an MSI GTX 560 Ti OC for the amazingly low price of $129.

I have heard Nvidia has a large stock of GTX 560 Ti and GTX 570s they are looking to get rid of before they release the GTX 660. Who knows prices may come down even more. At $129 this card is around $100 cheaper than I saw any 560 ti cards on newegg yesterday.
  9. ^thats a really nice deal

Yeah it's dirt cheap. I am almost tempted to get a couple for Sli. It's basically a 2 for 1 deal.

I think I am going to hold out for the GTX 660 but only because I just bought a laptop and my tech fund is low!
