Dual Core or Quad Core? More inside :)

Hello y'all.

I am customizing my laptop and do not know if I should get a dual core or quad core.

I will be using the computer for everyday things like web browsing, but also for music production, a little photo editing, video editing and rendering every now and then, and some LIGHT gaming. Like maybe some Minecraft every now and then. We're not talking Diablo 3 on ultra settings, but I might get a little more into PC gaming as time goes on.

Would a dual core suit me fine or is a quad core necessary? I would like to future proof my computer a little bit too if the cost is not too great.

Quad is better especially looking at editing and rendering.
