HP 9900ci combo CD/DVD

Does anyone have an HP 9900ci combination DVD player and CD recorder? Are they any good? Haven't seen many reviews of them. Thanks.

Not sure about this model. Me and My friend both brought a hp 7200i a few years ago. Both died in half an year. Never buy a hp CDRW again.

I don't have the 9900 HP burner, but I've brought a 8200i (4x4x24) from HP almost 2 years ago and haven't had a serious problem. In all this time I must 've burnt quite a few cd's (strictly for backup) and only had 4 or 5 coasters. Although the combo drives had a problem when they came out first, I believe that the technology is refined enough to buy one. I'd definitely recommend anything from HP.

Just recently ive seen a couple of all purpose cd/dvd RW drives around.
the highest performance one ive seen was a Ricoh 12x10x32x with 8x DVD recording capacity.

ricoh is a decent brand, but i have jet to see ANY reviews on them and this drive was so damn expensive.

it will be some time before mixed burners become affordable.
