Graphics card and cod4

hey all, got a very annoying problem, this morning i installed the evga nvidia geforce gt 520, now, when i open up cod4, within 5 seconds of me clicking cod4 i get the good old iw3mp.exe error, cod4 ran good before no errors, does this gpu even work with cod4?, iw3mp.exe error apparantly can be fixed by enabling stereo mix, cant get this as pretty much everything in my sounds and audio devices is greyed out. have already tried updating my graphics card to latest drivers, unistalled/reinstalled graphics card, helpppp!

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. What was your previous GPU?

Are you playing through Steam? Go into the Steam options for COD and Click the option for Steam to Verify the Game Cache . Takes about 5 min.

already tried reinstalling the game ... still the same, it was i think it was a gigabyte gv-nx66t128d

no i dont have the steam version.

i could try enabling stereo mix, but as i said before, my sounds and audio device properties is greyed out, i cant select anything, how can i fix this
