Gtx 670 or 7850

hello everybody
i was planning to buy this rig
gpu : 7850
cpu : i5 3570k
and i have
ram : 4 gb
and monitor : 1600x900
but then after thinking a lot , i asked myself why don't i decrease the cpu and get a higher gpu so i thought about buying
gtx 670 with fx 4100 " i know it's a fail cpu from amd and i know it's bad for gaming but i wanted the least quad core cpu "
knowing that i can't increase my budget anymore
so please tell me which is better
gtx 670 with fx 4100
or hd 7850 with i5 3570k

which one will perform better with my 1600x900 monitor ??

another question , are cuda and physx important or ati cards are just fin ??
plz answer the two questions

You are WAY better off with i3-2120 for gaming, no question. 7850 is fine for 1600x900 but obviously the GTX 670 is better, will handle the highest settings better and will obviously last longer. I would honestly get a better GPU than a better CPU if your budget is limited.

I agree but if you can hold off a little bit and buy both a better cpu and gpu because if you decide to upgrade later you would have to buy a while new motherboard

both cards are overkill for your monitor and will have no issue with any game you toss at them regardless of your CPU choice. why can't you go with something like the i5-2400 & AMD 7850?

most games don't use cuda and physx, if you google both you will find a short list of games that do. if you don't plan to play any of them then you really don't need to worry about cuda and physx.

well nice to know that , but do u mean that this card will be able to play heavy games with ultra settings on my monitor ?
and about the cpu i think the ivy will be better with the 7850 new architecture ..

yes of course i will buy a new mb but i will buy the cheapest one , and i think will not be able to get more money for short time to get the good gpu with cpu , so i think the 7850 with i5 is good , isn't it ?

The i3 will probably bottleneck the GTX 670 though, so will the 4GB RAM.

A GTX 670 is > HD 7850 + 7870 + 7950 + 7970. single 670 is better than all of these models.

yes you wont see that much performance difference using hd 7850 betwenn these two chips but the i5 3570k is more better in all over performance it support 3.0 pcie and even power consumption is low and its just $10 more then i5 2500k thats why for now go for i5 3570k and the i5 2400 is not that good overclocker and not that good for its price better go with i5 3570k and be happy its more future proof

Are you planning to overclock in the future? If so get a gaming motherboard because you may want to SLI in the future and if you probably will want to OC your cpu

I would get i3 with a 7850 and a better monitor (at least 1920 x 1080). You will enjoy gaming more and will still be able to play most games on Ultra.

Choice betwen the 2 go with the 670 for price for performance. But both are overkill at that resolution.

since i am on budget , i will buy a cheap motherboard so i wouldn't be able to overclock , maybe later i will upgrade it so i will be able to overclock and crossfire the 7850 too but i think this will be the next year or so , about ivy and sandy , i would go for ivy , i am bilding a 2012 rig so i want every thing to be new ^^ , and i know that the 3570k is better than 2500k at stock speed , and most of you say that the 7850 is overkill for my res so i will go for it

i want to play them maxed out settings with 1600x900

FX series CPUs are not good for gaming. I still think spend more on a monitor not CPU & GPU even a 6870 is overkill for that montor. The best gaming CPUs for the price are cheapest 1st

Core i5 2500K if overclocking core i5 3570K if not.

hello , i am on a limited budget and any increase in cpu will face a decrease in gpu and vice versa , so please help me choose between these choices


gtx 670 with i3 2120 /fx 4100 ??

if you're optimizing for game performance, radeon 7850 with i5 3570k will be the best combination
