Well I want a GPU that can run Skyrim and Battlefield 3 on max settings, I'll be using i5 3570k. Thought about getting either 7850 or 7870 HD. What do you guys suggest?
For my budget at the moment I would rather get 7850 but I am actually getting the card for 2-3 months so the prices will surely drop.

For future-proofing, I'd get 7870. If you don't mind and don't think you'll ever upgrade your monitor (which would be a great idea and isn't that expensive), then 6850/70 is fine. But with a 3570k I'd put a 7870 for a balanced and future-proofed system!

Well thing is that I'm buying a new system but I'm keeping my old monitor for now, however I might get new monitor next year...

definitely get the hd 7850 it will run everything maxed at that resolution, and try to get a mobo with crossfire support as well. Then once you upgrade your monitor next year, get a 2nd hd 7850 for a much reduced price and you should be set :D

imo hd7770 is not ideal for high end gaming/future proofing and a you don't need hd7870 for now.

Yeah I'm getting a mobo that can do crossfire though I'm in between AS Rock z77 extreme 4 and ASUS p8z77 - v.
I think I'll get the HD 7850 thanks for your replies everyone!
