Hi everyone ,
can you please provide me with some general guidelines when buying a monitor , I plan on using it for gaming and my Graphic card is HD6850 (ASUS) , so feel free to give any suggestions and opinions on certain types , sizes , ports . . .

With a 6850, i think best to get a 1680 x 1050 monitor, best balance between res and fancy in-game settings. 20" and 22" monitors for 1680x1050 are available widely and relatively cheap depending which type of screen you go for; that someone with greater understanding can explain.

Full HD, 1920x1080, whilst giving you a larger res which is better, it feels much larger and can fit multiple windows in it nicer but your 6850 would struggle to deliver playable frame rates with high settings on demanding games such as bf3.

I would go to a brick and mortar store and actually view their selection of monitors. Nobody is going to be able to tell you what you like best. Find something you like and write down the model number then order it online.
