Hi everyone, I recently built my first PC and everything's great except my screen frequently becomes a solid color or a solid color with vertical lines which forces me to restart my computer. What could be causing this and how can I fix it? I think it's because of my GPU which is a Sapphire 7850 OC edition. I also have a Corsair Enthusiast 750 watt power supply so it's probably not my PSU. This problem occurs mainly when I play Minecraft or browse the web but not on other games.

I had the same problem with my Gigabyte 7850 OC. It is apparently a problem with the idle clocks when it is not under load being too low. I changed the minimum GPU clock to 500 and minimum memory clock to 700 and I haven't the problem again. I found the answer in this thread and then googled how to change the idle clocks

Hope this works for you.

Please help, I am having the same problem on same card (HIS IceQX 7850). I tried the above mentioned method and increased 2d clocks on both core and memory to 500 and 700 respectively. And as soon as I presses save pc crashed, same solid colored screen and I had to hard shut down and after restarting PC again crashed at start up. Now I am reinstalling windows. Any idea what should I do?
