Hi,

I am looking for a card to replace my 8800gtx. I would like to run Borderlands 2, BF3, and other recent games on high settings at 1920 x 1080. I would like to spend less than $150. I am considering a 550 Ti priced at $66 after rebate. 460 and 6850 cards seem to go for ~$115-130 on Newegg and TigerDirect. Is the performance increase of a 460 or 6850 worth the $50 cost increase over this 550 Ti? Also, I am not in dire need of an upgrade; I am mainly just interested in the sale on the 550 Ti. Should I just wait a few months to upgrade, or should I grab this 550 Ti while it's on sale? I mainly only play Source-engine games right now, so I can wait if there is good reason to do so.

TL;DR

$150 budget. Upgrading from 8800gtx. Wondering if $65 550 Ti is worth grabbing while it's on sale or if a 460, 6850, or similar would be a better value. Can wait several months if suggested.

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Games @ 1920 x 1080, streams/video (no editing needs).

Well the 6850 is the best single card and best chance for getting the most quality/fps at 1080p, while the 550ti is the weakest by far. However, 2 550tis in SLI would be better than the 6850. You can probably only get 1 rebate though.
