Never mind the rest of my system, but I'm looking into soon upgrading my graphics cards.

I was originally told to avoid the GeForce 400 series if I wanted good performance and get something in the 500 series instead. So, I've been focusing mostly on the GeForce 560 or the GeForce 580. But I was wondering on what your opinions are and if I could get better perfomance out of something else. Looking at no more than £200. Using it to mostly run my Steam games at the highest quality.

Ps. Does anyone know what PCIe version the Asus M5A78l-M/USB3 motherboard has?

I understand this. After further research I think it's between the 550Ti and the 560. The Radeon 6850 popped up too, but I was told that tends to not be as powerful and often struggle with OpenGL applications. Although I was also informed that it's better to get an AMD GPU if your CPU is AMD too.
