I would use some asus software for hardware monitoring in windows:

Al suite II works great with windows 7: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8H6...
Choose your os, then suite II under utilities.

If touching the heatsink burns your finger, then check the pins or pop off the heatsink and clean and re-apply thermal grease; use a single drop on the cpu. I clean it with acetate in finger nail polish remover.
