Intel G Series CPU vs Intel Core2Duo :)

Hi

I bought Intel G645 and sold old Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz ...

My questions are :-

1. If I really did upgrade to a better CPU ?

2. For example PC requirement for a game says minimum 2.6 Ghz Core2Duo required does that mean my 2.9 Ghz Dual Core is sufficient or it has to be a Core2Duo and not a Dual core?

Please throw a little bit light to this.

The Pentium G645 is newer and has been refined so it will be faster at stock clocks than the the Core 2 Duo.
