I'm looking to buy a graphics card soon, probably a 6870 or gtx 560, but I'd like to wait until the next video cards come out so that the current prices drop, however, I don't know when that is. Should I wait another couple weeks (latest I want the card by is middle of August) or just buy one now? Also, do cards tend to go on sale at the end of summer when everyone starts back to school shopping? Thanks for your help!

nvidia is going to ship out its 660s soon (who knows if they will make the 650, as the 640 already exists now) amd will probably try to perfect their drivers and 7970 x2 card that will later be released. I don't expect either to ship out a new generation of cards very soon, as this current generation of cards is pretty efficient at what they do.

so no new gpu releases in the coming weeks? Should I just keep an eye out for a good card on sale and buy it? (i saw an xfx 6870 for 155$, so I may just grab it). But does anyone know if cards go on sale near the end of summer?
