Hello All,

I am putting together my first PC. Ive been doing research and of course 1/2 way through the past couple months of saving etc. Some new hardware has been released. So I have come up with what I think might be ok? I dont know that much about PCs and putting them together and what works with what etc. On the other hand, this setup seems to be ok? I am primarily using it for gaming. I would like my PC to able to play and also stream easily and work hard under load with multiple programs on. Ill be using mostly SC2, Xsplit, Skype etc to stream. Does anyone forsee any problems with this setup? I would have liked it to be closer to 1000-1100$ range but hopefully the added performance is justified.

I am open to suggestions either way!

thanks guys.

EDIT 1: Will the Hydro 212 block a DIMM slot? Ive heard with the larger Ripjaws wont fit right or something? Should i be concerned?

EDIT 2: Seems worth it to just wait for the 660Tis due this week. Thoughts?

Possibly. Anything with tall heat sinks is going to interfere with any coolers you might use. Get the Ares RAM instead - it's low profile and you won't run into that issue.

Worth it, yes, but you could easily squeeze in a 670 on that budget. Just eliminate the SSD for now and add it in later. I'll show you:

Thanks for the info. Question, the 660Ti is supposed to be around 300 price point. Ill probably wait and see if we have gotten any at my work tomorrow and price it out. Is there a big difference in the Ares vs Ripjaws RAM?

Yeah but if you can get the best GPU for your budget, why not?

The differences between the RAM are that the Ares has no tall heat sinks so you won't interfere with that cooler.

Does anyone else have any input on this build? I may not get the 660ti if it does only utilize the 192 bit bus. Even the 560Ti has 256. Should i be concerned with that anyways in regards to gaming? My other option is to find a 670 series, and hope the price goes down a bit with the release of the new cards, not sure.

the bus doesnt matter. what matters is performance.

g-units build looks solid although i would get a z77x-ud3h motherboard instead of the asrock extreme4

i would also get a pc power and cooling mk3 600w if you plan on getting 2 660tis. if it is a single gpu system, get the 500w

Anybody know if the PSU Corsair TX750w is nay better than the Rosewill HIVE? Ill be running most likely the 660TI only single card.
