Lan party for 4 persons

Hi.
Im setting up a LAN party with me and 3 friends. everyhting is okay with a place to be, food, drink etc.

but im having an issue with how to provide internet to the 4 computers.

the router is setup with all cables going through the house in the first floor and the party is going to be in the bacement.
there are no possibilities to move where we are going to be.

how can i provide internet to all 4 computers?(im not any good with networking.)


i have heard about this thing called a network switch. would it be possible to connect the switch to the router and then connect all the pcs to the switch?
would i need any software for this?

Just unplug the cable from your computer, plug it into the switch, then plug all four computers into the switch.

Should look like this:
(PCs) --- (Switch) --- (Router) --- (Modem)
All PCs plugged into the switch, with the router plugged into the switch also. The router can be bypassed if the modem has routing capabilities.
