My friend wants an affordable graphics card that will run battlefield 3 pretty well and asked me to make a recommendation, he doesn't want to spend a lot so from my research it seemed like this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130625 would be a pretty good deal at just 115$ the only problem I'm having is that I'm not sure if his comp will be compatible with it. he has a 500w power source and this motherboard(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131669). I'm positive that a 560 wont work and I'm pretty sure it's due to the wattage so it seemed like this particular 550 would be a solid card that should work but I'd like some opinions and also some confirmation on whether it will work or not.

i cant guarantee what your psu has since the watts isnt the most important part of a psu. a psu model or telling me the total amperage on the 12v rail + # of 6pin/6+2pins would be better information. if you have a sufficient psu, the HD 6850 will be the strongest of the ones i named above.

i already tried a 560 and it didn't work the computer didn't seem to be able to power it that's why im thinking about the 550

it has a pci-express 16 slot so yes it should be compatible

though on a side not, it pains me when i see a gtx 550ti, its a really bad gamer card, because its stuck between3ish cards, a 7750 which is cheaper and performs almost exactly the same, a gtx 460 which is far better than a 550ti for the same price, and an HD 7770 that is also the same price, newer technology as well. heck the hd 6850 is 120$ after rebate at the moment.
