Core i3 3220 or Pentium G30?

I am building a budget PC/Server to host a minecraft server on linux and probably of only around 3 players normally and 5 or 6 max. While researching I read that the minecraft server only uses one core of the processor and that it won't benefit much from Quad cores. Which would be better to get considering I'm on a budget, they are both dual core processors but would the i3 be faster than the g30 or would a g30 fine?

Memory: G. skill 8gb DDR3 1 stick
PSU: Corsair 430w
Optical drive: ASUS 24x DVD burner
Case: NZXT Source 210
Hard drive: WD Blue 500GB SATA 3 16MB cache

For gaming g630 is better as differenece between i3 and 630 is hyperthreating which is of no use for gaming.i would reccommend you to get g860 which faster than g630 at around same price

I stated that I wouldn't be gaming, this is to host minecraft so a G860 which is clocked at 2.9ghz or a core i3 3220?

seriously stop misinforming people if you don't know what you talking about ... i3 3220 is significantly faster even when comparing with G850

i am not all misinforming here.

i only told about only gaming.i know i-3 will be better and powerfull than g860 in multitasking.video editing ......etc

gaming difference between i3 and g860 is not big as both are dual cores.

i3 3220 is priced at $117 and g860 at $74 differrnce = $43.it is better to save $43 and get good gpu later.price difference is big

comparision between i3 and g860.difference is hyperthreading, better igpu
