Hey, so I have an AMD FX-8150 Zambezi CPU and I was playing Prototype on my computer and the CPU fan got really loud and I started to smell this weird kinda sweet smell and the case behind the CPU was really hot. So, I restarted my computer got to the BIOS and checked my temperature and it was at 40 degrees Celsius and I checked and that's like 104 degrees Fahrenheit! I thought holy *** that's hot I might mess something up and turned off my computer to let it cool down. So, I ask is this temperature too hot, or normal? And if it is too hot what might be the problem and how can I fix it?

40c is not bad but don't EVER let it get to 60c or the cpu will fry and not work but i think you should think about getting a new heatsink too.

The max temp is 61c or 140f. So the temp is fine on the CPU, reaching the max temp wont kill it as it is the max temp you have to go over the max temp to kill it. I don't think the CPU is the problem, I think another part of your computer did that. What do you mean by "weird kinda sweet smell"?

It's like this weird indescribable smell, but it smells kinda sweet. Maybe something is burning? I just put the CPU yesterday.

Try and locate the smell, again I don't the CPU has to do with it.

Get this PSU, that one might be dying. No matter what that PSU is very bad for your system and most likely does not give 600w, more like 400w. The PSU I sent you the link to is more then enough for your system but will give your more power for future upgrades :).
