New cooling paste on I7 when adding again after removal

Hi,


I had to remove my I7 from my motherboard because it didn't function anymore. Now this I7 had already some cooling(i didn't add any of it!) paste on it when i first added it, but now since i removed it, some of it i had to clean off the motherboard.

I'm now about to add it again to a new motherboard.. do I need to add new cooling paste or is it still ok?
