Ticking noise on XFX 6850 45% fan?

Hey,

So my friend recently got a new graphics card, the XFX 6850. We knew about the bios issue and his now using MSI Afterburner to stop the issue where the fan would be stuck at 73% no matter what. So after that we then ran into another problem where a loud ticking noise, as if something is getting scratched appears only at 45/46%

not sure about the ticking noise, but the xfx 68xx series is known to make noises.

check to make sure the fan isnt rubbing up or hitting anything....as with most fans it could just be going bad and may need to be replaced. probably has a bad bearing that's the cause of most issues with fans

It's brand new, so it probebly wont be the bearings, and it isn't hitting anything. Thanks for the response

just because its new doesnt mean the bearings could be bad. What else could it be its def the fan making the noise and if its not hitting anything then it would have to be something mechanical in the fan itself. unless the noise is coming from something else but that doesnt seem to be the case
