I have just recently been told that a 430 watt psu will be enough to power this system

gpu-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814103211
cpu-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116506
dvd and hard drive from a dell vostro 220
RAM- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231460

i have a psu similar to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026

will this be enough to run this because my gpu alone says minimum of 500 watts?
thank you for any help

Solution

Yes - A quality 430w psu will run your sys with a gtx 660

Yes - you can run your sys with a quality 430w unit.
GPU mfg's put psu requirements (like 500w) to allow
for poor quality psu's.

Your tot sys power draw with a 7850 is <300w, so you will
be OK.
