How many watts do I need for my first build???

I was just wondering how many watts of power i need for this build. right now I have 800W but I do not know if that is too much or too little.

Here are the specs:

CASE: COOLER MASTER HAF 912

PSU: COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Gold Series RS800-80GAD3-US 800W ATX

HDD: Hitachi GST Deskstar 7K1000.C 0F10383 1TB 7200 RPM

MOBO: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

GPU: GIGABYTE GV-R787OC-2GD Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0

CPU: Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz (3.4GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3

Disc Reader: ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner

Just eyeballing your specs tells me 800 is overkill, but go ahead and punch everything into the calculator.

you could get away with a 600w, but only if its a decent brand

Can't give you an answer on that. Power supplies aren't really my specialty. However, it looks solid and you should never skimp price wise on a PSU. If you really want to be sure though, open a new thread :)
