How to encrypt internet connection

I am running win xp and I am very intrested in encrypting my internet connection using exp.8 and firefox 4. what do i have to do to get the ball rolli ng?

When you visit a website that supports encryption (you will see https:// in the address bar) your browser will automatically use encryption.
