Hello, I'm looking to build my first computer soon for under £500. I'm no expert on this so I just need assurance that all the parts I have chosen are right and not missing anything i need.

Case Cit vantage
Power Supply Corsair 600W CX Series V2 PSU
MotherBoard Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 Socket AM3+ 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
CPU AMD FX-4 4100 Black Edition 4 Core 3.6Ghz Socket
Memory G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600mhz
Video Card Saphire Radeon HD 6870 1gb
HDD Western Digital 250gb
Optical Drive Sony AD-5280S-0B DVD±RW 24x

I'm also considering to overclock the processor (not fully) using the stock cooler, can anyone reccomend how far i go before it heats up too much?

Thanks.

I have that same processor and i have it overclocked using the bios to 4.2 GHZ. I have not had any problems with the overclock. Your build looks fine. If you are going to use the build for gaming, I would look into an Intel CPU like the i5. I saw it on sale at microcenters for $159 (a great price)

Also, double check that the mobo you have selected does not require an update to run the FX chip. I hava an ASROCK mobo that I had to update with an old AMD 955 chip to make the mobo work with the FX chip

I just looked at that now, thanks. It seems for the extra price to get the aftermarket cooler iIcan get the Fx 4170 cpu (Ghz 4.3 default) for 15 pounds cheaper.
