Hello all! I’m a long time mac person, now looking to make something with good performance that can fit my budget. I have a working build I would like to get some advice on. This is my first build, so I am not set on any specifics. I’m much grateful for any help on this. I don’t plan on doing any gaming, not that I am ruling it out in my future, but no need to build around any games. Also, the reliability of whatever I'm getting is much more important than price.

I am mostly curious about compatibility issues. I was planning on an i5-3550 at first, but was suggested I go with the Xeon e3 so I can utilize the hyperthreading capabilities. I’m still very new to this, so any explanation of changes would be much appreciated.

Approximate Purchase Date: within a week or two
Budget Range: around $1500
System Usage: Adobe CS5: Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, AfterEffects, Premiere. Possibly some 3D programs in the future: Maya, Zbrush
Monitor: will be getting an IPS, and possibly another in the future.
