the 3770k actualy used socket 1155 on a z77 chipset not x 79 socket 2011 that you are looking at

are you tring to say the socket is not right on the motherboard for intel's 3770k chip?

Best solution

GA-X79-UD3 is socket LGA 2011
Intel Core i7-3770K is socket LGA 1155

If your budget is not high (your motherboard selection indicates otherwise), then select a socket 1155 motherboard based on the Z77 chipset, e.g., GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UP4 TH, GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H, ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE (as expensive as the X79 motherboard that you selected, but dual LAN, etc.)

Most motherboards have two or more PCI-e x16 slots, but they'll operate at x8/x8 (not an issue with PCI-e 3.0 which is twice as fast as 2.0). Select the motherboard that best meets your requirements and budget.
