HP XW6400 as HTPC

Hello,

I intend to use my HP XW6400 workstation as a HTPC. What upgrades do I need to do? I intend to have a high performance to medium performance HTPC. I don't want to throw money either. I want to be able to play BRRips, 720p, 1080p movies. It would run Ubuntu or Windows 7. I also want XBMC. Please suggest.

Can you list all of the hardware the workstation has in it currently and what OS you are running?

Also, if $$ is to be spent, what is your absolute budget?

Most likely, all you need is a cheap video card, a big hard drive, and a BD optical drive.
