Recently I bought a HDMI cable and a HDMI-DVI adaptor to connect my PC to my TV so I can properly watch movies. Both my monitor and my TV have native resolution of 1920x1080p. The problem is the following: If i set resolution of TV to 1080p the screen will go black and show the message "cannot display this video mode". If I set the TV to a lower resolution it will show the screen properly though the quality is bad. The highest I could get without screen going black was 1080i at 30 hz refresh rate. As soon as I increase refresh rate to 60 the screen goes black again.
Also worth mentioning is that I had a PS3 connected to my TV through a HDMI cable as well and it displayed 1080p without any problems. I have tried with a VGA cable months ago and it worked just fine.
I would like to know why my TV won't display the native resolution properly. Is it because of the cable i'm using or some wrong settings on my PC?
My TV is a 32" Philips model 32PFL3605H/12
My PC specs are:

ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe MOBO
MSI Nvidia GTX 560Ti
2x4 GB Kingston DDR3 1600 MHz CL8 RAM
Intel i5 2500K Sandybridge, OC at 3700 MHz
