Phenom 2 x4 965 voltage

hello all,

I recently switched processors in my desktop from an Athlon x2 250 to a phenom 2 x4 965be. from what I read online it seems that this is a common problem. when I put it in cpuz read the voltage at 1.504 for only 3.4ghz. does my GA-MA785GM-US2H does my mobo really hinder it that much or do I need to change settings in bios?

CPU core voltage is 0.825-1.4 volts. Go into BIOS and check, also see if AMD cool n' quiet is enabled in the BIOS , save and exit, reboot computer.
