I recently got hold of system with an i5 3350P, 8GB DDR3. The stock PSU is not adequate for new gaming cards. I wish to upgrade the system with a Corsair 650w and a Geforce 660ti. The motherboard seems alright, but it has a standard PCIe x16 slot.
I wish to play all the recent high-end games with this standard PCIe slot. I'm aware recent motherboards have 2.0 and 3.0 standards, but is it really worth upgrading the motherboard just for a more recent PCIe standard for gaming performance?

Hi. It's not worth upgrading the motherboard just to have PCIe 3.0; you're not missing out on anything.
