I am going to build a new rig for video editing.I use Sony vegas pro 11 and Adobe After effects cs6 for my work.
I was just wondering which GPU will be better for GPU acceleration on Sony vegas...and I don't want any server cards because I play games as well.
btw I'm in India were prices are on the higher side,
Price of Amd 7850 is 279$ whereas of Amd 6870 is 209$..or should i go for Nvidia? I'm confused!
Kindly suggest me which GPU will be better for me.Thanks in advance :)

My new pc specs are as follows-
Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz 4GBx3 Ram
Intel 3.5 GHz FCLGA1155 Core i7 3770K Processor
ASUS P8Z77-V LX Intel Z77 ATX DDR3 2400 LGA 1155 Motherboard

montagical@Why?

EchoOne@ I didn't get that. How does your CPU destroy your GPU while rendering?

refillable@Do the CUDA thing help while rendering in sony vegas?

Okay dhruvdd, I have the solution for you. First of all, CUDA won't help you at ALL in Sony Vegas as it does not make use of CUDA. Unless you'll be using adobe After Effects more than Sony Vegas, I suggest you go with an Nvidia card. But if you will use Vegas more, get a Radeon card. They have a stronger OpenCL module which Vegas Pro makes use of to do GPU acceleration, so it will render faster than your CPU depending on how strong your CPU is. In most cases OpenCL GPU acceleration will always prevail over CPU rendering. For video rendering, save up for a Radeon 7870. It will be an absolute boss at GPU acceleration. But if you can't wait and need a GPU now, then get the Radeon 7850. It beats the 6870 in every aspect you can think of. For example Skyrim, the 6870 used to get about an average of 20 FPS on Ultra settings, but on the 7850 would get a whopping 83 FPS on average. I hope this helps.
