Hi guys, I was thinking on buying a new graphics card, but I'm not sure which card would be the best choice, I could buy an ATI 7870 or ATI 7950, but I'm gonna be playing in a single 26" monitor, so I don't know if the 7950(3GB) is gonna be worth the extra money.

If some of you have the same cards that I just mentioned, please tell me how they work in a single monitor environment, I would like to run BF3 maxed out and a couple of other games that I usually play

Thanks and I will appreciate any suggestions.

well, what games do you play? some of the top games on the market need a 7950 to max out, such as BF3, and metro 2033

that aside, if you're not an AMD fanboi, Nvidia's gtx670's the best buy at that price bracket at the moment. it's significantly faster than the 7950 :)

if your resolution is 1920x1080, a 7950 is what you need at minimum for ~60 fps though i sugest buying a gtx 670 unless the 7950 is on sale.

I found the 7870 at $320, and the 7950 at $380 on Amazon.com, and my resolution is 1920x1200 and another thing to consider is that, I'm kind of a ATI graphics cards fan...

I would still go for the 670, if you want to save some money then I would suggest 7870.

I think 670 is good.

the thing is, the 670 is ~5% faster than the 7950 for only $20 more. it is generally regarded as the single best deal for high-end gaming right now. if you really want ATI/AMD, get the 7870. it's highly overclock able, and you don't need the 3GB of memory for a single monitor

Being a fan of a major corporation will usually lead to heartbreak.... In this case, both ATI and nVidia make good products with varying properties from card to card and generation to generation. BF3 works better currently on nVidia hardware.
