My computer power button wont work transfered power connection to reset button

my computer power button not working so pc repairer connected the power supply to reset button and told me to start computer by pressing reset button now i am worried if i start working with this is there any problem or am i going to lost my data or any hardware parts like harddisk, motherboard is going to damage. i am doing accounts work at home so i dont want to lose any data nor i want to damage my pc

It sounds like all he did was disconnect the faulty power button from the motherboard, and then connect the reset button in its place. They are both the same type of switch. All it means is you have to remember to press the button marked 'reset' now to turn it on. He gave you a quick and inexpensive fix. You should be fine if that's what he did.
