Megaflow 200 air pressure?

I have a CM HAF-X case with front and side intake fans (megaflow 200's) and two top exhaust fans (also megaflow 200's). I have a standard CM 140mm exhausting from the rear. All the fans (except the 140mm) are hooked straight to the PSU via 4-pin Molex connectors.

I was expecting a tornado inside that case, but instead, I can only really feel air out the back from the 140mm. Should I feel a strong air flow out of the top of my case? There is barely a whiff of discernible air from out the top and a very slight flow right against the intake grills.

There's plenty of heat in that case: a Gigabyte GTX 650 TI OC and an MSI GTX 580 Lightning.

Thanks.

Maybe those fans are set as intake ? You should take a look at them before. The 200mm shouldn't spin very fast but you should feel a lot of air being pushed away. Maybe your psu cannot handle that much fans ? with your system it requires a big psu, 500w's not enough so the fans shouldn't be spinning fast enough to create a good airflow.

Take a look at your fans and psu.

Thanks, Bromeh.

I'm running an 850W PSU with a load of ~580W (at the UPS).

But, I definitely don't feel lots of air from those 200mm's (from either side:))

I feel more air from the 120's and 140's than I do from the 200's.

PSU is okay so it may be the fans themselves ... Are they all plugged on the same molex road ? ( (Molex cable->200mm #1->200mm#2->200mm #3->200mm #4)

If they are try them separately. If they have a 3pin connector, plug them on the motherboard to see if it change something.

That's maybe because they don't have enough power to spin as fast as normal. What is your 140mm brand and model ? If it's a sickleflow, it should push the same amount of air as the 200mm's.

Thanks, Bromeh.

My 140 is a sickleflow and the megaflow's are chained as you have stated.

I'm planning some case surgery today so I'll try your suggestions.

Thanks again.

I bolted up a kazemaster fan controller I had laying around. All four megaflows report ~650 rpms. I believe that is pretty near spec.

So, I guess they are working, and I guess I just expected 100 cfm to feel stronger.

Thanks for the responses.
