Friends, I have decided to build a new Core i7 3770 system. Please help me choose components.

Approximate Purchase Date: this week

Budget Range: 100k INR, flexible.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: 3D, Photoshop, gaming in full HD & high settings.

Are you buying a monitor: No, I have got Dell U2311Hb monitor.

Do you need to buy OS: Windows 7 64 bit

Location: Hyderabad, India

Overclocking: Maybe in future.

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in future. For now I want to see how Intel's HD 4000 perform, without any external gpu.

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments:

Here is my list, pls suggest options/changes

Processor - Intel Core i7 3770

CPU Cooler - is it needed if I don't overclock? If yes, suggest which one.

Motherboard - pls suggest something solid & long lasting. No fancy items like wifi & bluetooth needed. Required USB 3 & Sata 6gbps support. Should have graphics ports (DVI and HDMI Interface) for utilizing Intel HD 4000 capability of the processor. Should let me add couple of graphics cards (AMD or NvDia) later in crossfire or SLI. Should have four dimm slots. Should support PCI-E 3.0. Preferred brand is Asus but other also will do.

RAM - Gskill 16GB ARES RAM F3-1866C10D-16GAB (2 dimms). Plan to add 2 more in future as and when required.

Graphic Card - Shall use Intel's built in HD4000 for now as said above. But will go for a PCI-E 3.0 model when I get a discreet gpu.

SSD - Not for now, later may be.

HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1 TB SATA 6.0 (ST1000DM003)

Optical drive - not required, have old one.

PSU - Preferred brand is Corsair. What should be the power requirement with 3 hard disks, one optical drive?

Case - Corsair 400R Mid Tower Cabinet

Keyboard Mouse - Razer Cyclosa Bundle (Black)

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Because I can :)

ok you have about 1794$... but this:

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($324.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme 81.3 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($117.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($144.98 @ NCIX US)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($86.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($82.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Storage: OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($114.98 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card (2-Way SLI) ($307.86 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card (2-Way SLI) ($307.86 @ Newegg)
Case: Cooler Master HAF XM (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: NZXT 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($107.19 @ Amazon)
Total: $1715.82

just a quick question... are you going to do heavy video editing and stuff like that or simply light/mid video creation and photoshop? becuase you might not benefit from having an i7 and 16GB of RAM, an i5 with 8GB will be way more than enough.

Btw... go here:

Thanks aqualipt!

The mobo you suggested has only 2 SATA 6gbps headers. I want more and ASUS P8Z77-V Motherboard seems okay although costlier. Does it support support PCI-E 3.0?

As I said, I am not buying gpu right now but will add a PCI-e 3.0 gpu later. Also don't need a SSD.

I will use it for 3DS design & rendering.
