i5 and i7 uses new technology which make them faster than a c2d at the same frequencies .... i5 and i7 = newer -> better

As well as being quad cores instead of dual cores.

I5 in mobile version is dualcore - only i7 is quadcore in mobile version - i5 is

quadcore in desktop versions i7 is quadcore with HT ( hyperthreadning ) which

means each core have a logical core so it´s capable of running 4+4 threads = 8 -

which means the i7 desktop model is capable of doing double as much work!

The Core 2 Duo is dual core only which is capable of doing 2 threads
