Well, today I will be getting parts for my new build and I just realized that the Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus that I ordered does not fit my mid-size ATX case. Here are the dimensions if you need to look at them- http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01949111#N77

I plan on returning the item ASAP and ordering a smaller cooler today. With 2-day shipping, I should get my new cooler by Tuesday/Wednesday (business days). I was wondering if I could temporarily use my old stock from an AMD Athlon X2 240 in my new AMD Athlon II X4 Propus 3.1GHz processor. I don't have any case fans on my mid-size ATX.

P.S. The new CPU that I ordered is an OEM so it doesn't come with stock heatsink/fan

I would wait. having put thermal paste on and then take it off and clean up the cpu and re apply it is a lot of work. wait the the replacement.

I'm not sure if AMD made different heatsinks for the 65W/95W and 125W CPU or not. your x 2 240 is a 65w cpu and the x4 is a 95w CPU (more heat to dissipate)
