Hi all,

Is this case good for my rig? : Sharkoon REX8 Value Edition
Or should I go with this one? : Zalman Z9 U3

My rig:
XFX 7970 Ghz. Edition
Intel i5 2500K + CM Hyper 212 Evo
ASRock Z77 Pro3
Ram 8GB
Sharkoon WPM600
Seagate 7200 rpm Barracuda 1TB

I might do some mild OC'ing in a year or two when the CPU isn't good enough anymore. I don't want to spend too much on everything but the CPU and GPU that's why I don't want to take a much more expensive case. Otherwise I would have to take a less good CPU and GPU.

Thanks in advance!

Littlebro.

I have worked with the Zalman before and its prety good for its price. The other brand I do not know but as far as I can tell its not bad.

I would say get the Zalman.

Here's a couple to consider (all have USB 3.0 front ports!):

~$60
Corsair Carbide Series 200R Black Steel structure with molded ABS plastic accent pieces ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

$50
Rosewill REDBONE U3 Black SECC Steel USB 3.0, eSATA, 3x 120mm Fans Mid Tower Computer Case

If you don't like those options, than I would go with the Zalman, it looks like a good option too :)

Yeah Corsair one is also good. BUT NO WAY to the Rosewill...

On a tight budget the Rosewill will do. Hard to beat when it's on sale around $40 though :)

Fair point... But it wont do for a decent OC. ;)

True. I just was trying to give some more budget friendly options. I do like the Corsair 300R w/the INSTANT Promo code! That is one sweet deal at $60, if you can afford it!

^1+ to the 200r or 300r from corsair. Great cases, I've worked with the 300r and liked it alot.
I've got a rosewill with nothing in it sitting in my basement, they're actually not bad imo.

Umm the Corsair 300R isn't available where I'm buying (Belgium). I'll give a list of every case that is an option:

Cooler Master Elite 430
Cooler Master Elite 431
Sharkoon T5 Economy
MS-TECH CA-0270BL Xerxes
Cooler Master Centurion 534 Lite Black
Sharkoon REX8 Value Edition
Thermaltake V4 Black Edition
Enermax Clipeus
Chieftec DF-02B
Procase Zirco AX
Zalman Z11
Zalman Z5
Sharkoon T9 Value red/green/white edition
Cooltek Timaios
Sharkoon Nightfall U3
Sharkoon T9 Value black edition
Sharkoon T28 blue edition
Antec Three Hundred
Cooler Master Centurion 534
Aerocool Strike-X GT
Thermaltake Spacecraft VF-I
Corsair Carbide 200R
Aerocool Templarius Ferrum
Zalman Z11 Plus
Zalman Z9 U3
Aerocool Strike-X Advance Black

I'd like it to be as quiet and cool as possible. I put them in upgoing price order.
Sorry for the long list :p .

Thanks for the replies so far!!!

There's also a 200R? Or is it not as good as the 300R? And if you look at my specs, will the Zalman or Corsair do the trick (as in no overheat when I OC mildly)?

200r is just a cheaper version of it, I'd probably say get that, I've heard the antec Three hundred is also good

Ok, I'll probably go with the 200r or the Zalman Z9. I just hope those cases aren't too budget-ish for my rig...

Not really, you don't have any super large or water cooling, so you will be fine.
