Gaming PC for 1000-1200$

Approximate Purchase Date: Sometime in the next 3 weeks

Budget Range: I would like to spend less than 1000$ - 1200$ (less is obvious quite alright with me)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, surfing the internet, watching movies, school work

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: I'd like to make a brand new pc

Do you need to buy OS: Yes (I'm a student and I know I can get a windows 7 for 65$)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: (only because it's the only site I really know)

Location: Madison, WI, USA

Parts Preferences:I don't really have a preference because I don't know the brands to well

Overclocking: Maybe

Your Monitor Resolution:1680x1050

Additional Comments:
I would like to be able to play Skyrim on high settings. I would also like to be able to play a game like Starcraft while watching a video on my second monitor if that's possible.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: My current pc is pretty outdated, it has trouble running new games well.

Include a list of any parts you have already selected with descriptively labeled links for parts. Please do not post only links.

  1. You don't need that much power for 1680x1050. A Radeon 6870 will max skyrim at that res.
  2. You don't need the I7 for the gaming, i5-3570K is more than enough.
