I just got a new system consisting of a Epox 8KHA+ motherboard w/ Via KT 266A chipset, AMD Athlon 1800XP+, Point of view Geforce 3 Ti 200 graphic card, Soundblaster Live! Value soundcard and 512 mb ddr ram. I run under Windows 2000 Prof.
Most of the time it works just fine, but when I play games (sometimes other applications also, such as installation progs), and especially NHL 2002, it makes spontanous restarts or present a blue screen with the following messages: alt 1. DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or alt 2. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Somtimes I can play the games for several minutes without problems and sometimes this happens as soon as I enter the game. I have updated the Via drivers and I have tried both old(21.83) and new Detonater drivers (23.11). When I enter the device manager I can see that all my pci devices (Soundcard, Graphic card, NIC, USB) uses the same IRQ resource. This might be a problem (heavy sharing), but in Win2k you can't change resources manually. If anybody has any sugestions about how to solve this problem I would be very gratefull.
