Skyrim Radeon 6950 Issue

Having an issue with my computer. I just built this PC and am really confused why BF3 looks great but still getting low frame rate on Skyrim.. I've tried numerous settings on the catalyst controller and am just sad my rig can't play Skyrim well. Any advice is GREAT and appreciated.

I've been told next time to buy Intel and Nividia..?

Is it my CPU? GPU? What's weak here?

Your system should be able to run Skyrim with no problems. It may be your internet connection. Try setting all the eye candy (video settings) to low or medium. This game is cpu demanding but yours is more than adequate. What frame rates are you getting? Are you running a lot of mods?

What resolution are you playing at, are you using mods in skyrim, and what exactly is the framerate you're getting in it?

What driver version do you have for your graphics card?
