Amd Fx-6300 vs Intel i3-3225

So I got everything ready except the processor, which I'm conflicted about. Which of these two would be better for radeon hd 7870 ?

AMD FX-6300
Pros:
-apparently better for gaming and multitasking
Cons:
-takes up more power
-motherboard has no PCI 3.0 slot

Intel i3-3225
Pros:
-Ivy Bridge
-Less power
-Intel specializes in processors
Cons:
-slower?

Is the i3-3220 the same as the i3-3225?

same clock speed but different integrated graphics. 3225 has hd 4000 and 3220 has 2500

but that doesnt matter since youre going to use a discrete graphics card

At stock, The 3225 is going to be the better gaming chip. The Fx 6300 can neutralize that advantage with a mild overclock and is faster overall.

They are equal for gaming at stock. Some benchmarks show the i3 with a couple of extra fps, but it's not going to make a difference in real life.
