I have a HP Pavillion computer and may have turned off the wireless switch. HP won't help me unless I pay them an ungodly amount of money (I'm out of the warranty period). Would you help??? I have a wireless router connected to my cable modem. My Bluray and laptop are working fine, but my desktop suddenly lost the ability to detect any wireless connection (even my neighbors). The router guys couldn't help me and they (and a friend I asked to help me) asked if the wireless switch is on. As far as I can see there is no physical switch, but I could be over looking it. If there is a combo of keys I need to use to turn it on, I don't know what it is. I looked in the books I have that came with the computer and there is nothing about a wireless switch. Other info that may be useful:
Wireless LAN 802.11b/g
Model a6700y
Product NC686AA#ABA
Serial MXX91908RB
Windows Vista
I tried a system restore at two different points and that didn't help either.

Thanks!! Amy in South Carolina

check in the Device Manager if the wireless network card is installed or if it is showing up under Other Devices.

If it is installed, go into the Control Panel choose Network and Sharing Center.

on the left choose Manage network connections.

make sure the Wireless Network Connection is not disabled.
