I know this cards price came down quite a bit as it is now 130$ at its lowest point and the 6870 is also at that point. My quesiton is since in the tom's hardware review the 6870 only beats the 7770 by normally 6-8 fps(which you can oc it to match that much). Which would be better. A 7770 with CFX in the future or wait longer and a 7850 with no CFX in the future.

Ok I think I will wait. It will be a long wait though:)  Right now I have a 9800GT(yea I know I know) but it plays BF3 med-high for now and tribes, minecraft. I looked and compared the reviews on techpowerup from the 7850 and 7770 CF and they are about equal in performance both beat each other on differ games. I did want the 2GB of the 7850 cause I will have 3 screens at some point in the future. I can get 2 7770's at about 110 on tigerdirect but I would also need a new PSU for CF which kinda destroys the price save between the 2 choices.

THe 7770 would be a bit better than the 9800 GT and the 6870 would be very good. But youll be able to max BF3 with the 7850 depending on your other specs. At the very least Ultra with the eyecandy off.

Yea I know the 7850 can run BF3 on ultra at 1440x900. The 6870 can at 1280x1024 cause my friend has his set to that. The 7770 OC'd can supposedly max BF3 to cause I have seen a lot of things on it. I can OC my current card to 78GB/s easy(its stock 57.6 right now) which is the bandwidth for the 7770. Only real problem I am having in getting the 7770 is the 128-bit with CF where as my curret card is 256-bit and can OC pretty freakin high do to that. I can hit about 90+ max with my card OC'd till I get a blue screen.

Another cnsideration for you, specially if your thinking of CF the two 7770's, is microstutterig. On all low to midrange cards, the phenomenon is particularly bad. And can really take the pleasure away from gaming. Do a search on Toms an you will find a interesting article. The upshot being that the best advice is always to go for the best single card setup that you can afford. On that basis, I would avdvise to wait for the 7850, or when you can afford something comparable!

Cheers :)

Yea good point. I thought they had microstuttering under control mostly fixed though. And a microstutter here and there is not gona kill me now a 5 sec lag stutter would be unplayable.
