Im going to be putting together my first pc pretty soon. I use 3ds max 2012 and use mental ray for rendering. I was wondering what cpu is best for it. I want to play games on it too, i was going to go for the 3570k or the 3770k. I dont know if hyperthreading is totally necessary for me, since im just starting to learn max

cpu - still deciding
gpu - asus 660ti
mobo - asus p8z77-v lk
ram - vengence lp 8gb
ssd - what to know what the most reliable and cheapest on the market

My budget is $1200 or less, please leave suggestions on what i could do to make the system better. Im going to buy the parts from newegg

I want to stick with Intel for the cpu.

OK, so should i go with a K or non-K version? I want to try to make this pc to last me atleast 1 1/2 years with out any major upgrades.
And can you tell me all the necessary parts for a complete build so that i dont miss anthing important? Thank you

Get 16GB RAM, programs like that can use all the RAM they can see : )

This one is fast, than OC a bit, all that helps with rendering.

And at least 16GB of the RAM.

K version is the best, since u will overclock it and get ~30% for free in extra performance, once u add the aftermarket CPU cooler.

Its going to be a machine.

Maybe only one more thing, to get a 16GB of RAM, since it is so cheap now.

Get OEM version, x64bit.

U will be able to use more RAM than 4GB.

64bit windows allows for better multitasking.
