Hello all,
I am gaming with a fairly outdated computer. I am not exactly sure quite how old it is as it has received a mash up of different parts a while back, but i know it is still quite sub-par. Anyway, the computer is less than stellar in playing even the less graphic intensive games (WOW, Minecraft). I was wondering what should be my next upgrade to increase gaming performance or whether to just save for a new rig. I would like to at least play at 1680X1050 resolution, higher detail, and still get some decent fps. Also, I would prefer to spend less than $200 on one single upgrade. Thanks!
Here are the specs:
Operating System
MS Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP2
CPU
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4850e
RAM
4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 359MHz (5-5-5-18) (newly upgraded)
Motherboard
ASUSTeK Computer INC. M2N68-AM Plus (AM2)
Graphics
ASUS ML238 (1680x1050@60Hz)
ATI Radeon HD 4550 (XFX Pine Group) (upgraded from a motherboard GPU a few years ago)
Hard Drives
335GB Seagate ST336032 0AS SCSI Disk Device (Fibre)
335GB Seagate ST336032 0AS SCSI Disk Device (RAID)
I think wattage is something like 420W. Not 100% sure though
