Hi Job_3 AMD is not the way to go right now. In terms of performance comparisons, they are just not a patch on Intel right now :(

HDD - The WDC Green drives are slower, 5400 RPM drives. You're better off with a Blue/Black one ;)

If you're not looking to overclock your processor, you can save quite a lot more on the CPU, Board & also, the aftermarket HSF. You won't be needing that either. Total savings in that case will add upto around $100 :)

You can keep your PSU, RAM and case. They are pretty good :)

CPU: $220 Core i5-3570K

Board: $135 Asrock Z77 Extreme4

RAM: $55 CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB - or keep the one in your link.

HDD: $75 Western Digital 500GB

ODD: $18 LG SATA DVD Burner - or keep the one in your link.

GPU: $400 EVGA GTX 670

HSF - $35 COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO

PSU: $70 CORSAIR TX650 V2 - or keep the one in your link.

Case: $55 COOLER MASTER Elite 431 Plus - or keep the one in your link.

Total - $1008 After Rebates (excluding shipping) :)

GPU: For a gaming built, the card in your link is way too weak for any budget, much more so for $1000. If you do desperately need an SSD, get yourself one and drop the GPU down to a SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition OC 2GB or a GTX 660ti.

You can always add a SSD as a future upgrade.
