Alright, looking for some basic information and thanks in advance. My parents are being told by Comcast that they need a new modem to use their full internet capabilities. I have no doubt this is true as their modem is old, but I want to be educated so that my parents aren't spending money they don't need to in order to use E-bay. 
It seems they need a modem that is DOCSIS-3 Capable, and IPv6 capable. It appears their current modem probably isn't this.
