Upgrade from Sapphire 6870 to Sapphire 7950 OC edition

I wanted to know if this is a upgrade worth the money. I use eyefinity on 3x 24 inch monitors and I play bf3 very often. However, I don't get very good performance. My CPU is the i7 870 2.93GHz. I will overclock it to 3.4GHz very soon. Is it worth the money to upgrade from my Sapphire 6870 to a Sapphire 7950 OC edition? Thank you

So even with my CPU, do you think it will improve my performance?

Your CPU is not really bad, and yes battlefield 3 can be CPU limited in miltiplayer. but whenyou are running 3 1080p screens on a 6870 which is only really capable of high on ONE screen its gonna be the gpu holding you back. generally for triple A titles on multimonitors people have to run high end SLI/crossfire to hit ultra at 60FPS. I don't remember exactly what toms reviewed it at but its definitely going to be an improvement and with the newest drivers and a decent overclock you should get better than what they did.

they also did some CPU tests in the original BF3 release review you can look at

yes. even with stock clock it will run just fine with 7950. unless you want to run multi gpu setup
